I’m a researcher and lecturer in Media, Technology, and Society. I’m a former lecturer in Psychoanthropology of Social Media and member of the PReCoM research unit at St. Louis University, Brussels. I’m also an external collaborator in the Institute for Culture and Society at the University of Navarra. I did my undergraduate degree in philosophy at the National University of Colombia, and my Master’s and PhD in philosophy as well as a one-year training in psychology at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.
Most of my research deals with emotions, ICT, and news media, with a particular emphasis on ethical issues. My research interests include the ethics and philosophy of technology; the philosophy, psychology, and sociology of emotions; psychological and sociological approaches to ICT; the role of affect in the production and reception of online news media; and Critical Theory (particularly Walter Benjamin’s work).
